Bulls, Bears and White Burgundy

In the spirit of Independence Day, we at The Daily Sip™ felt it appropriate to honor a political/economic guru during the week of July 4th. There seemed no one better in our minds than the man, the myth, the legend: Bill Donaldson. Bill’s claims to fame are vast, but the top three are 1) having founded one of America’s great investment banks (the “D” in DLJ) 2) having founded the Yale School of Management, and 3) formerly serving as the Chair of the Securities and Exchange Commission. Oh, and he currently serves on President Obama’s Economic Recovery Advisory Board.

When not trying to determine by how much we need to de-leverage American businesses or contemplating other major macro-economic conundrums, Bill loves to sip on white wine…even Conundrum. You got it, real men drink white. Some of Bill’s favorite wines include Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Sauvignon Blanc, and White Burgundy, though his all-time favorite is White Zinfandel. (Hey, if the man is entrusted with serving as an instrumental voice on national economic policy, he’s entitled to White Zin as his all-time favorite.)

Most recently, Bill was seen sipping with Hugh Jackman at the Evan B. Donaldson Adoption Institute benefit in New York.

Be sure to read Bill’s exclusive interview with The Daily Sip™ featuring his “Adventures in Wine” . You can also see some of Bill’s favorite (white) wines in his online wine cellar. Best of all, none will break the bank! (pun intended)
